In a paper-based environment, opening new accounts requires account and deposit documents to be printed, signed by the customer, and then routed to the back office for filing or scanning and indexing. With the
adoption of E-Sign and UETA legislation, electronic signatures have
become acceptable legal alternatives to traditional ink signatures. PROFORMANCE developed INFO-CAPTURE, an e-signature solution that eliminates paper output when opening new accounts by automatically capturing, identifying, indexing and archiving documents that are electronically signed by a bank's customer. With electronic signing pads, an electronic signature can be captured in digital format and applied directly to documents that require a customer signature. Once signed, the documents are stored and immediately available for retrieval. A TWAIN scanning component
is also included to scan a driver's license or photo
ID.
